Let us pause to remember who it is who stands at the ready
while we celebrate in the warmth of too much food and loving family,
while we watch football games and fall into carbohydrate comas on our comfy couches,
while we shop online for Black Friday deals,
while we take our freedom for granted.
It sure isn't Congress.
God bless our service men and women wherever they are on this Thanksgiving Day, 2014.
Keep them safe.
